PIL Filed in Bombay High Court Over MPSC Protests in Pune
Pune : A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed before the Bombay High Court seeking action over ongoing protests by competitive examination and MPSC aspirants at various locations in Pune.
The petition has raised concerns about traffic congestion and inconvenience allegedly caused to commuters and residents due to the protests. The petitioner, describing himself as a concerned Pune resident, has sought directions to end the protests at their present locations and shift them to alternative sites away from busy city areas.
The petition also seeks legal action against the organisers if the protests are found to be unauthorised or in violation of applicable rules.
Bombay High Court Issues Notices
The Bombay High Court has issued show-cause notices to the Maharashtra government, concerned administrative authorities and police officials in connection with the petition.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and the concerned Deputy Commissioner of Police have been named as respondents. The petition has also named Pramod Patil, Nitin Andhale and Chetan Waghaj as key organisers of the protests.
The matter is currently being heard by the Bombay High Court, with the court examining the concerns raised in the petition and the response of the authorities and other respondents.
