Modi Government Has Worked for Workers’ Welfare : Ravindra Chavan

  • Anup More pledges to remain accountable to workers; Mathadi union sets 50,000 membership target

Pimpri-Chinchwad : BJP Maharashtra president Ravindra Chavan said the labour law reforms introduced by the Narendra Modi government have strengthened worker protection and made various welfare benefits more accessible.

He was speaking at a state-level office-bearers’ meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Mathadi Transport and Security Guards, General Workers Union (Regd.) held in Chinchwad on Tuesday.

Addressing a gathering of thousands of Mathadi office-bearers from across maharashtra Chavan said, “Earlier labour laws were being used to create difficulties for workers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced reforms to provide justice and protection to workers. Benefits such as provident fund facilities and health insurance for families have become more accessible under the new labour law framework,”

He said the union, led by Anup More, had enrolled around 15,000 members and praised its efforts to strengthen the organisation. “Anup More is leading Mathadi workers effectively in the state. The BJP will stand firmly with workers to help the organisation achieve its target of 50,000 members,” Chavan said.

He also said the Modi government at the Centre and the Devendra Fadnavis government in Maharashtra were taking decisions in the interests of workers and their families.

Union founder-president Anup More said the organisation was established in 2014 and currently has around 15,000 members across Maharashtra. “We have set a target of enrolling 50,000 members. The leadership has given me an opportunity to work at the state level, and I will work to uphold the trust of workers and continue fighting for their rights,” More said. He also appealed to workers to strengthen the organisation and support its activities.

Mayor Ravi Landge, BJP city president Shatrughna Kate, MLAs Mahesh Landge and Shankar Jagtap, MLC Uma Khapre, party leader Prashant Shitole, Deputy Mayor Sharmila Babar and other office-bearers and Mathadi workers were present. Newly appointed office-bearers were felicitated by Chavan.

Union’s 50,000-Member Expansion Plan

The Mathadi union’s state-level meeting was attended by thousands of workers and office-bearers from across Maharashtra. The organisation’s logo, which includes the figure of Bharat Mata, was highlighted as representing the principle of “Nation First”.

Anup More said the union aims to expand its organisational network and reach the target of 50,000 members by 2029. He also appealed to workers to remain united and strengthen the organisation’s activities. The newly elected office-bearers were felicitated by BJP Maharashtra president Ravindra Chavan during the meeting.
