MLA Deputy Speaker Anna Bansode to Receive Grand Civic Felicitation in Pimpri
- Sunetra Pawar, Parth Pawar and several ministers, MLAs to attend Saturday’s ceremony
Pimpri-Chinchwad : Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Anna Bansode will be felicitated at a grand civic ceremony in Pimpri on Saturday (October 3) following his appointment to the governing board of the People’s Education Society, established by Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
The felicitation ceremony will be held at 11 am at Hotel Raga Palace in Kalewadi-Vijaynagar, Pimpri, near the Mother Teresa Flyover. Union Minister for Social Justice Ramdas Athawale will felicitate Bansode, while Pimpri-Chinchwad Mayor Ravi Landge will preside over the event.
Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, Maharashtra Social Justice Minister Sanjay Shirsat, Guardian Minister Bharat Gogawale, MP Parth Pawar, MP Shrirang Barne, MLA Mahesh Landge, Shankar Jagtap, Gopichand Padalkar, Uma Khapare, Shankar Mandekar, Bapu Pathare and Sunil Kamble are among those expected to attend. Former MLA Vilas Lande and MLA Sunil Tingre are also scheduled to be present.
The event is being organised by the Annasaheb Bansode Gaurav Samiti, Pimpri-Chinchwad, with the Siddharth Bansode Yuva Manch as co-organiser.
According to the organisers, the People’s Education Society was established by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on July 8, 1945, with the objective of empowering socially and economically disadvantaged sections through education. The organisation is associated with Ambedkar’s educational legacy, and Union Minister Ramdas Athawale is currently its president.
Bansode began his social and political journey in Pimpri-Chinchwad as a party worker under the leadership of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. He subsequently served as a municipal corporator and Standing Committee chairman before being elected MLA from the Pimpri Assembly constituency three times and later becoming Deputy Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
The organisers said Bansode’s appointment to the governing board of the historic educational institution was a matter of pride for Pimpri-Chinchwad and called upon citizens to attend the felicitation ceremony in large numbers.
