Aishwarya Taras Warns of Protest Over Water Supply Issues in Ravet, Kiwale
Corporator seeks generator at Ravet pumping station by November 1 to prevent disruptions during power outages
PIMPRI-CHINCHWAD : Corporator Aishwarya Rajendra Taras has warned of an agitation on November 1, 2026, if the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) fails to resolve recurring water supply problems in Ward No. 16, covering Ravet and Kiwale.
Taras has submitted a memorandum to officials from the civic body’s water supply and electrical departments, demanding the immediate installation of a generator of adequate capacity at the pumping station located at Survey No. 96 in Ravet.
According to her, the pumping station supplies water to residents through several storage tanks. However, the absence of a suitable backup generator means that pumping operations are disrupted whenever the electricity supply is interrupted.
As a result, thousands of residents reportedly face water shortages, affecting their daily lives.
Seeks permanent solution to water disruptions
Taras said water is an essential necessity and residents should not be deprived of supply because of power outages. She stressed that temporary measures would not resolve the recurring problem and called for a permanent solution to ensure uninterrupted pumping operations.
She has demanded that the process of purchasing and installing an adequately sized generator be completed by November 1, 2026.
Memorandum submitted to civic engineers
Taras submitted the memorandum to Ajay Suryawanshi, Associate City Engineer in the Water Supply Department, and Mr Kaware, Associate City Engineer in the Electrical Department.
She warned that an agitation would be organised against the concerned departments if the necessary action was not completed within the stipulated deadline.
Taras has urged the civic administration to take immediate steps to prevent repeated water supply disruptions and provide reliable water services to residents of Ravet and Kiwale.
