Pimpri-Chinchwad : Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge has assured that the pending demands of persons with disabilities in Pimpri-Chinchwad will be considered positively and appropriate action will be pursued. Representatives of Prahar Apang Kranti Sanghatana submitted a memorandum highlighting issues related to financial assistance, property tax concessions, self-employment and accessibility in public spaces.

The memorandum was submitted during the ongoing Navratri festival organised by Maheshdada Landge Sports Foundation and Shivanjali Sakhi Manch, where citizens and representatives from various sectors are meeting the MLA to raise their concerns.

The organisation has sought a one-time grant of ₹2 lakh for eligible persons with disabilities to repair and modify their homes. It has also demanded 50% property tax concessions for eligible beneficiaries who lack Index-II documents but possess alternative ownership records, including those recorded as occupants in property documents.

Other demands include ₹1 lakh financial assistance for eligible persons who received ₹10,000 for assistive equipment in 2017, and retrospective benefits from April 1, 2013, under the financial assistance scheme for marriages between two persons with disabilities.

The organisation has also sought permission for disabled stallholders licensed before 2012 to continue their businesses at existing locations. Additionally, it has demanded ramps, accessible pathways and toilets in municipal gardens and recreational centres, along with accessibility audits of all PCMC buildings.
