Annasaheb Patil’s Struggle Continues to Inspire Workers : Irfan Sayyed
- Maharashtra Mazdoor Sanghatana pays tribute on 93rd birth anniversary of Mathadi workers’ leader
Pimpri-Chinchwad : The Maharashtra Mazdoor Sanghatana, affiliated with Shiv Sena, paid tribute to late MLA Annasaheb Patil, recognised for his contribution to the Mathadi workers’ movement, on his 93rd birth anniversary on Thursday.
A tribute programme was organised at KSB Chowk in Chinchwad, where office-bearers and workers garlanded the statue of Annasaheb Patil and recalled his contribution to the labour movement.
Shiv Sena deputy leader Irfanbhai Sayyed said Annasaheb Patil had fought throughout his life for the rights and welfare of Mathadi workers.
“Annasaheb Patil not only secured rights for Mathadi workers but also fought to ensure social dignity and legal protection for their labour. The movement he built for workers’ rights continues to inspire lakhs of workers even today. Preserving his ideals and legacy will be the true tribute to him,” Sayyed said.
The participants also resolved to work collectively for protecting the rights of Mathadi workers, addressing their problems and promoting workers’ welfare. They said the movement initiated by Annasaheb Patil was not limited to any particular community or section, but represented the struggle for the legitimate rights of the working class.
The programme was attended by Pimpri-Chinchwad city and Pune district president Hanumant Tarde, Pune district organiser Pradeep Dhamankar, Maruti Appa Kawadare, Nagesh Vanwate, Ravi Godekar, Sarjerao Kachare, Ashok Sabale, Suresh Thik, Avinash Bhosale, Sandeep Jambhale, Rohit Navale, Yuvraj Potekar, Ajay Bhor, Kiran Devkar, Ganesh Devdkar, Suraj Gujar, Amit Pasalkar, Sunil Sawale, Amrut Shinde, Avinash Jambhale, Nana Naikwade, Sandeep Sabale, Ganesh Naikwade, Ayush Shinde, Ratnakar Bhojne, Vikram More, Somnath Dafale, Samarth Nayakawade, Subhash Pujari, Mahesh Parte, Sagar Pawar and Balaji Khaire, along with other office-bearers of the organisation, Mathadi group mukadams and a large number of workers.
