30 tonnes of essential supplies to benefit 1,000 families across seven villages; month-long ration kits and Diwali snacks to be distributed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pimpri-Chinchwad :<\/strong> Extending his social commitment beyond political responsibilities, Chinchwad MLA Shankar Jagtap has initiated a relief programme for drought-affected farmer families in parts of Maharashtra. Under the initiative, 1,000 needy families from Barshi, Bhoom-Paranda, Kalamb and Gevrai regions will receive essential grocery kits sufficient for a month, along with traditional Diwali snacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 30 tonnes of essential supplies will be distributed as part of the initiative, aimed at providing relief to families facing financial hardships due to drought conditions. The effort seeks to ensure that these families can meet their basic household requirements and celebrate Diwali with some relief and happiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The distribution will cover seven locations across the four regions. In Barshi, 150 families each from Shelgaon and Khadkalgaon, totalling 300 families, will benefit. In the Bhoom-Paranda region, 150 families from Kasari and 100 families from the Pardhi settlement in Sirsav will receive assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, 150 families from Golegaon and 100 families from Dabha in the Kalamb region will be covered under the programme. Another 200 families from Lonala village in Gevrai taluka will also receive the relief material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this initiative, the programme will reach a total of 1,000 farmer families across the seven locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative has been undertaken with the objective of extending support to rural communities facing difficulties due to drought. While the state government is implementing various measures to provide relief to farmers, Jagtap has sought to supplement these efforts through a community-led initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme also reflects the importance of extending social support beyond geographical and political boundaries. Despite representing an urban constituency like Pimpri-Chinchwad, Jagtap has taken the initiative to reach out to distressed farming families in rural parts of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the organisers, the values of selfless service, social responsibility and putting society first, which Jagtap draws from the teachings of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and his family upbringing, have inspired the initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The effort also highlights the connection between urban and rural communities, particularly the contribution of farmers to society. It emphasises the role of individuals and socially capable sections in supporting vulnerable families during difficult times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jagtap said that standing alongside farmers during their hardships was both a moral and social responsibility, considering their contribution to feeding the entire society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our entire society depends on the hard work of farmers. However, when natural calamities push their families into difficult circumstances, it becomes our moral and social responsibility to stand firmly by them. The values instilled through the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh have inspired us to serve society. We believe that whatever society has given us should be returned through service to the people. If this assistance brings a smile to the faces of 1,000 farmer families and even slightly reduces their worries, our efforts will be worthwhile. Preserving the bonds of humanity beyond politics, constituencies and geographical boundaries is our social commitment,” <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
