The civic administration has stated that legal action will be taken against anyone found illegally occupying these flats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rehabilitation project was undertaken under the Central Government&#8217;s Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM) and Basic Services for the Urban Poor (BSUP) schemes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the project, construction of a total of 11,760 housing units was planned. Of these, 3,440 flats have been completed, while 2,880 units have been handed over to eligible beneficiaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, a legal dispute concerning the project is pending before the Bombay High Court. Due to the court&#8217;s stay order, the allotment of the remaining 640 flats and further construction-related proceedings have been suspended. The existing status quo order continues to remain in force, and no fresh legal development has changed the current position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The civic administration has reportedly received complaints that some individuals are attempting to forcibly enter and illegally occupy the vacant flats. Complaints have also been received about certain persons allegedly encouraging others to trespass into these housing units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In view of these developments, the PCMC has appealed to citizens not to enter, occupy or encroach upon any vacant flat in the project.
