He also promised to prioritise civic issues faced by housing societies, including irregular water supply, garbage collection, drainage, police patrolling and access to cultural facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"511\" height=\"261\" src=\"https:\/\/theleadernews.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/22.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3698\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theleadernews.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/22.jpg 511w, https:\/\/theleadernews.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/22-300x153.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 511px) 100vw, 511px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The assurance came during a <em>&#8220;Jansamvad<\/em>&#8221; programme organised at VJ Infinity Society in Kate Wasti, Punawale, where representatives of various housing societies interacted with the MLA. Corporators Rahul Kalate, Reshma Bhujbal and Kunal Vavhalkar along with BJP leaders Ram Wakadkar were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Traffic congestion at the Tathawade\u2013Punawale underpass remains a major concern for residents due to its limited height and width. Jagtap said efforts had been made to address the issue, including improvements to service roads. He added that the tender process for the main underpass work had been completed, the contractor had been finalised, and the work order would be issued. The proposed underpass height is four metres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Focus on Water Supply and Waste Management<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents of newly developed areas of Punawale raised concerns over irregular water supply and inadequate pressure. Jagtap said he would convene a meeting with the concerned officials to resolve the issue. He also expressed his intention to pursue the construction of a water storage tank near the proposed Oxygen Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On waste management, the MLA assured residents that a garbage depot would not be established in the area. He said steps were necessary to address the city&#8217;s growing waste generation, which could reach 5,000 metric tonnes daily by 2041.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Drainage, Security and Civic Amenities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jagtap also assured residents of Rohan Ananta Society in Tathawade that their grievances would be addressed. A separate meeting with officials will be held to resolve drainage-related issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents also raised demands for regular police patrolling and a police outpost. Jagtap said he would pursue the matter with the concerned authorities. He further assured residents that instructions would be issued to ensure effective implementation of the decision to waive charges for tree pruning within housing societies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Responding to demands for community spaces, Jagtap said efforts would be made to develop town hall reservations under the new development plan.
