National president Dr Baba Kamble warned that an aggressive agitation would be launched if the authorities failed to act within eight days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The unions alleged that Rapido was using two-wheelers with private number plates to ferry passengers without complying with the necessary government permits and transport regulations. They also claimed that such operations resulted in revenue losses to the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The memorandum referred to a 2019 protest by autorickshaw drivers in Pune, following which a case was registered against Rapido. It also cited subsequent legal proceedings before the Bombay High Court and the Supreme Court, alleging that the bike taxi service continued in violation of applicable rules and court orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The unions have put forward three key demands: an immediate shutdown of allegedly illegal bike taxi operations and criminal action against those responsible; mandatory display of autorickshaw and taxi fares on mobile applications in accordance with the formula prescribed by the Hakim Committee; and the establishment of a dedicated welfare board to protect the social security and rights of autorickshaw and taxi drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kamble said discussions with RTO officials were held on camera and stressed that the administration must address the concerns of drivers without delay. The delegation was led by Kamble and national vice-president Anand Tambe.
