{"id":3383,"date":"2026-10-08T15:51:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-08T10:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theleadernews.in\/?p=3383"},"modified":"2026-10-08T17:29:58","modified_gmt":"2026-10-08T11:59:58","slug":"nana-patekars-demise-a-great-loss-to-indian-cinema-mlc-amit-gorkhe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theleadernews.in\/?p=3383","title":{"rendered":"Nana Patekar\u2019s Demise a Great Loss to Indian Cinema : MLC Amit Gorkhe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pimpri-Chinchwad :<\/strong> Maharashtra Legislative Council member Amit Gorkhe expressed deep grief over the demise of veteran actor and social worker Nana Patekar, saying his death was not only a loss to the film and social sectors but also the loss of a senior guide whose presence had always been a source of strength and inspiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paying tribute to Patekar\u2019s contribution through the Naam Foundation, Gorkhe said the veteran actor had given a new direction to drought-affected communities and worked extensively towards making Maharashtra drought-free. He described the water conservation initiatives undertaken through the foundation as an important chapter in the state\u2019s social history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cRather than limiting himself to expressing sympathy through words, Nana Patekar reached out to families of farmers affected by suicides and extended support to them through the Naam Foundation. His efforts to restore hope among such families and address the issue of farmer suicides will be remembered for generations,\u201d Gorkhe said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said Patekar had a tough and fearless persona on screen, but in real life was a deeply sensitive person who remained closely connected to the soil and understood the struggles of farmers and rural communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recalling his personal association with Patekar, Gorkhe said the actor\u2019s guidance had always given him renewed energy whenever they discussed social issues, public welfare schemes and constructive initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHis straightforward nature, selfless commitment to social service and immense affection for people will always remain a guiding light for me. Even after reaching the pinnacle of success, Nana remained connected to the fields and the soil.
