{"id":3113,"date":"2026-09-30T12:47:20","date_gmt":"2026-09-30T07:17:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theleadernews.in\/?p=3113"},"modified":"2026-09-30T12:47:27","modified_gmt":"2026-09-30T07:17:27","slug":"questions-raised-over-%e2%82%b92-77-crore-x-ray-machine-tender","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theleadernews.in\/?p=3113","title":{"rendered":"Questions Raised Over \u20b92.77 Crore X-Ray Machine Tender"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Machine reportedly supplied to Kota medical college for \u20b91.40 crore; Sandeep Waghere seeks cancellation of PCMC tender<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pimpri :<\/strong> Questions have been raised over the proposed purchase of a 1000 MA Digital Radiography System under the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation\u2019s medical equipment procurement tender, GeM Tender No. GEM\/2026\/B\/7797530.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The estimated value fixed by the civic body for the machine is \u20b92.77 crore (\u20b92,77,56,000). Concerns have been raised that the estimated amount is significantly higher than purchase prices reportedly paid by other government institutions for similar equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A letter has been submitted to the PCMC Commissioner on behalf of Sandeep Waghere, corporator and Standing Committee member, seeking immediate suspension and cancellation of the tender and a detailed inquiry into the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to information cited in the letter, the original equipment manufacturer, for equipment matching the technical specifications mentioned in the tender, reportedly supplied a 1000 MA machine to a medical college in Kota, Rajasthan, for around \u20b91.40 crore. The letter also states that an 800 MA machine was sold for around \u20b91.10 crore earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The letter questions why PCMC has fixed an estimated price of \u20b92.77 crore for a 1000 MA machine when a similar machine was reportedly purchased by a government institution for around \u20b91.40 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Objections over technical specifications<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The letter also raises objections to the technical conditions and specifications prescribed in the tender. It alleges that some of the technical requirements may favour certain companies or suppliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Waghere has therefore sought scrutiny of every technical criterion in the tender, the estimated price and the market rates used to arrive at the estimated cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The letter further states that inquiries by investigative agencies are reportedly underway regarding certain sales transactions of the concerned manufacturer with government institutions.
