{"id":3058,"date":"2026-09-26T19:16:20","date_gmt":"2026-09-26T13:46:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theleadernews.in\/?p=3058"},"modified":"2026-09-26T19:18:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-26T13:48:09","slug":"1-41-lakh-ganesh-idols-collected-in-pcmc-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theleadernews.in\/?p=3058","title":{"rendered":"1.41 Lakh Ganesh Idols Collected in PCMC Area"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>&#8211; 33,086 Eco-Friendly Idols Included; 67.78 MT Nirmalya Collected<br><strong>Pimpri-Chinchwad : <\/strong>Around 1,41,246 Ganesh idols were immersed through eco-friendly arrangements made by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) during this year\u2019s Ganeshotsav. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The civic body had created 63 artificial immersion ponds to encourage environment-friendly immersion and reduce the impact on natural water bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of the total idols collected, around 33,086 were eco-friendly Shadu clay idols, reflecting public participation in sustainable celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The PCMC also focused on separate collection and management of nirmalya. Around 67,779.45 kg (67.78 metric tonnes) of flowers, garlands and other nirmalya were collected during the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The civic body further collected 1,771 kg of Shadu clay, while 11,489 kg of clay was made available to voluntary organisations for reuse.
