{"id":3014,"date":"2026-09-24T15:24:27","date_gmt":"2026-09-24T09:54:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theleadernews.in\/?p=3014"},"modified":"2026-09-24T15:24:29","modified_gmt":"2026-09-24T09:54:29","slug":"secure-your-future-with-atal-pension-yojana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theleadernews.in\/?p=3014","title":{"rendered":"Secure Your Future With Atal Pension Yojana"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pune :<\/strong> A state-level awareness programme aimed at accelerating enrolment under the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) was held in Pune on Wednesday, with senior banking officials calling for wider outreach to eligible citizens across Maharashtra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme was organised with the participation of Bank of Maharashtra, the State Level Bankers\u2019 Committee, the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), senior officials from various banks and Lead District Bank Managers from across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The participants stressed the need to bring more citizens in the 18-40 age group under the Atal Pension Yojana, particularly workers in the unorganised sector, self-employed individuals and eligible residents in rural and semi-urban areas. The focus was on increasing awareness about the scheme and encouraging people to plan for financial security through pension coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pravesh Kumar, Chief General Manager of PFRDA, urged banks to step up efforts to increase APY enrolment through their branches. He called upon banks to conduct awareness campaigns and organise outreach programmes in villages, service areas and other locations to provide eligible citizens with information about the scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAPY is not merely a pension scheme but an important support for the financial security of citizens in the future,\u201d Kumar said, urging banks to play an active role in bringing more eligible people under the scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Banks Honoured for Performance<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Banks and Lead District Bank Managers who made notable contributions towards achieving APY enrolment targets during the financial year 2025-26 were appreciated during the programme. Member banks that performed well in implementing the scheme were also felicitated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Maharashtra Sets Ambitious Target<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vivek Nachane, General Manager of the State Level Bankers\u2019 Committee, said Maharashtra has set a target of recording the highest number of Atal Pension Yojana enrolments in the country during the financial year 2026-27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He stressed the need for banks, Lead District Bank Managers and government agencies to work in coordination to achieve the target.
