{"id":1806,"date":"2026-04-12T12:39:18","date_gmt":"2026-04-12T07:09:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theleadernews.in\/?p=1806"},"modified":"2026-04-12T12:39:19","modified_gmt":"2026-04-12T07:09:19","slug":"shahir-rajendra-kamble-honoured-at-pcmc-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theleadernews.in\/?p=1806","title":{"rendered":"Shahir Rajendra Kamble Honoured at PCMC Event"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>Social awareness week begins with cultural programmes and strong reformist message<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pimpri :<\/strong>&nbsp;Veteran folk artist Shahir Rajendra Kamble was felicitated by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Mayor Ravi Landge at the inauguration of \u2018Samajik Samata Saptah\u2019 and \u2018Vichar Prabodhan Parv 2026\u2019, marking the bicentenary of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accepting the honour, Kamble said he has spent over four decades spreading social awareness across Maharashtra through Shahiri, inspired by the ideals of Phule, Shahu Maharaj and Ambedkar. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue this mission with greater vigour, calling it not just an art form but a social responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi, Deputy Mayor Sharmila Babar, and other civic leaders, along with social activists and citizens. The felicitation citation was read by Special Officer Kiran Gaikwad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opening day featured a series of cultural and thought-provoking performances. Sharada Munde\u2019s solo act \u2018Mee Jotibachi Savitri\u2019 portrayed the inspiring journey of Savitribai Phule, while Kamble\u2019s Shahiri performance delivered powerful messages of equality and social reform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Musical renditions by Sadhana Meshram and Manjusha Shinde added a melodic touch to the theme of awareness. A staging of Mahatma Phule\u2019s play \u2018Tritiya Ratna\u2019 highlighted issues of superstition, social injustice and the importance of education.
