Pimpri: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has launched the \u2018Mayor\u2019s Medical Financial Assistance Scheme\u2019 to support economically weaker residents in the city who are struggling to afford medical treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The scheme has been introduced through the Citizens Public Charitable Trust of PCMC with the objective of providing financial assistance to patients suffering from serious illnesses or requiring costly medical treatment and surgeries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiative has been launched under the leadership of Pimpri-Chinchwad Mayor Ravi Landge and Standing Committee Chairman Abhishek Barne. Under the scheme, financial assistance will be provided to eligible patients through cheques issued in the name of the concerned hospital to help cover treatment expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mayor Ravi Landge said the initiative aims to ensure that no resident is denied medical treatment due to financial constraints. \u201cThe scheme has been launched to ensure that needy citizens receive timely treatment and are not deprived of healthcare services because of financial difficulties. Providing support to economically weaker families for medical treatment is the primary objective of this initiative,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Civic officials said the scheme aims to reduce the financial burden on patients and enable them to access timely medical care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To avail the benefits of the scheme, the patient or a family member must submit an application to the Mayor\u2019s Office at the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Applicants are required to submit supporting documents including a copy of the patient\u2019s Aadhaar card, ration card, income certificate issued by the tehsildar\u2019s office, a recommendation letter from the local corporator, and an estimated treatment cost certificate issued by the hospital with the doctor\u2019s signature and stamp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officials stated that the details mentioned in the application must be accurate, and financial assistance will be approved only after verification of the submitted documents.
