Pune : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for 21 districts in Maharashtra predicting thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall on Friday, 3 October 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a brief pause in rainfall towards the end of September, monsoon showers are set to make a strong comeback across several regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to IMD forecasts, Marathwada, North Maharashtra, and Vidarbha will be the most affected regions, with thunderstorms and gusty winds expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mumbai & Konkan Region: Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar may experience light to moderate rainfall, while Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg could witness moderate showers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Western Maharashtra: Pune, Satara, Kolhapur, and Sangli districts are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall. Solapur has been warned of thunderstorms with lightning. Moderate showers are also expected in ghat areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Marathwada: Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) and Jalna may see moderate rains, while Beed, Parbhani, Hingoli, Latur, Dharashiv, and Nanded are under a thunderstorm alert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
North Maharashtra: Dhule and Nandurbar will receive moderate rains. Nashik, Jalgaon, and Ahmednagar are likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vidarbha: Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in all districts including Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Buldhana, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Wardha, Washim, and Bhandara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the return of intense monsoon activity on October 3, IMD has urged citizens to remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall, and take safety precautions against lightning and strong winds.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
